Arianna Zoghi
Arianna joined the firm as a fellow in 2025. She previously litigated post-conviction death penalty cases at the Capital Representation Resource Center, where she defended death-sentenced individuals’ rights to effective assistance of counsel, fair prosecution, and an unbiased jury. After that, she served as legal counsel to the Virginia Senate Democratic Caucus, drafting legislation and advising senators on legal, constitutional, and political matters.
Arianna is a graduate of Yale Law School, where she received scholarships from the A. Henry Saranec Fund and the Carolyn E. Agger Endowment for Women in Law. While in law school, she co-authored the Liman Center’s comprehensive survey and report on the use of solitary confinement across the United States. As a law student, she also assisted formerly incarcerated people with legal issues related to employment, housing, and criminal records expungement through the Reentry Clinic, worked on death penalty cases in the Capital Punishment Clinic, volunteered with the Bronx Defenders through the Civil Rights Project, and interned with the Arlington County Public Defender’s Office and the Office of Legal Counsel for the Governor of Michigan.
Arianna attended the University of Virginia as an Echol’s Scholar, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. She is licensed in Virginia, and is practicing under supervision of members of the District of Columbia Bar while her application for admission to that bar is pending.
